Isilon get VMware Ready status

Isilon Systems has just received the VMware Ready status for their IQ products, meaning that their NAS products have been tested to work VMware’s products and vSphere management tools.

“By combining Isilon IQ with vSphere 4 enterprises can achieve simplicity at scale and drive increased operating leverage for their business,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware. “We are pleased that the Isilon IQ product family qualifies for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that Isilon IQ has passed specific VMware testing criteria and is ready to run their mission-critical business applications and operations.”

Isilon is now included in the list of partners for storage hardware, which currently consists of over 25 companies offering over 50 products. In other words: they are a bit late to get the certification, but I’m sure they are happy to finally receive it.
