With VMworld wrapping up today, it’s a quiet news day which is always a nice time to look back at some of the products that have been released lately. HotHardware is one of the places that does so, by providing us with an extensive test report about the current state-of-the-art SSD drives.
The drives they tested were:
- OCZ’s 120 GB Vertex drive
- The OCZ Vertex Turbo, also 120 GB
- The Corsair P64
- The PhotoFast G-Monster-V5, a 256 GB drive consisting of two 128 GB drives in RAID-0
You can check out the full review at HotHardware. The only thing missing is a good comparison of the power consumption of these drives; they only measured the power draw for the entire system. This was between 173 and 181W for all tests, which seems like a small difference; but for a laptop, an additional 8W power draw can mean a lot.
