Pliant announces new distribution partner

Pliant Technology is announcing a new partner for distribution of their just-announced Enterprise Flash Drives today; Bell Micro has agreed to distribute them throughout North America. Bell sees SSDs as an important market segment:

According to Joe Cousins, vice president of marketing for Bell Micro, “Bell Micro continues to be on the leading edge of storage technology, and we are seeing solid state drive technology being embraced more and more by our enterprise customers.  There is a significant opportunity for Bell Micro and our customers, and we are bringing our vast storage expertise to bear on the SSD space.  By aligning ourselves with enterprise SSD storage suppliers like Pliant, we can leverage our expertise in serving this customer base and create a win-win situation.”

As far as I can tell Bell Micro is also the first distribution partner for Pliant’s products; their own partner page says so, and I haven’t seen any other announcements about distribution yet. Bell has yet to post the new products to their website; but if you’re interested you can call them at 1-800-800-1513 for more info.
